company.ch terms for website listings, indexing plans, optional enquiries and invoices.
Scope
These terms and conditions govern the use of company.ch, including company search, registration, accounts, website listings, the Free, Index and Index Pro plans, AI and search functions, optional phone, lead and form extensions, and invoices.
A listed company’s own terms apply to its products, services, offers and contracts. company.ch is not a party to those contracts.
Roles and definitions
The following definitions apply under these terms:
- ‘company.ch’ or ‘platform’: the website and company directory with intelligent search operated by Menekse Media.
- ‘Person searching’: anyone who uses search, visits a result or sends an enquiry.
- ‘Company customer’: anyone who validly represents a company, uses an account or manages a listing.
- ‘Listing’: the public presentation of a listed website with the related non-public search data.
- ‘Indexing plan’: the scope of website crawling and search placement level selected by the company customer.
- ‘Supported language version’: an available German, French, Italian or English version of the listed website.
- ‘Enquiry’: answers and standard details sent to a specific company through the optional form extension.
Operator and contractual relationship
Menekse Media, Solibodenstrasse 18, 8180 Bülach, Switzerland, operates the platform and is the contracting party for paid indexing subscriptions. The enquiry extension is a feature included in Index and Index Pro. Contractual communications may be sent to info@company.ch.
Public use
Public company search, viewing results and sending an enquiry to a company are possible without an account. The platform may only be used for its intended purpose, lawfully and without impairing operation, security or third-party rights.
Registration and authority to represent
An account is required to create and manage a listing. The email address must be reachable. Anyone acting for a company confirms that they are authorised internally and legally and may use the company website provided.
Paid services are intended for company customers acting in the course of business or professional activity. Requesting the registration link initially creates an unverified account. The email address is only confirmed through the single-use link.
By clicking “Register”, the company customer accepts these terms. Acceptance applies to the account created and to all services later selected or ordered through that account, including Free, Index and Index Pro. The service, price, term and renewal details displayed when indexing is started also apply to paid orders.
Passwordless access
Registration and login are completed through a single-use link sent by email. It is valid for 20 minutes and must be kept confidential. Company customers must not give access links or active sessions to unauthorised third parties and must report suspected misuse immediately to info@company.ch.
Indexing plans and prices
Free costs CHF 0. Only the corresponding homepage of each detected supported language version is considered, up to four pages in total; subpages are not followed. Better placement in search and the phone and form extensions are not included.
Index costs CHF 50 per month, is billed every six months at CHF 300 for six months and covers up to 100 technically suitable pages per detected supported language version. If there are more pages, company.ch automatically selects the content most useful for search. Among similarly relevant results, Index ranks ahead of Free.
Index Pro costs CHF 100 per month, is billed every six months at CHF 600 for six months and covers up to 1,000 technically suitable pages per detected supported language version. If there are more pages, company.ch automatically selects the content most useful for search. Among similarly relevant results, Index Pro ranks ahead of Index. The optional form and phone extensions with availability hours are also included.
Index and Index Pro also include up to 500 words of private additional information for AI search about the company customer's genuine offers, services or products. Following administrative review, it is assigned to the homepage in the selected primary language, is not displayed publicly, is excluded from public search responses, and is used exclusively for search and ranking on company.ch. The company customer is responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of the additional information; company.ch may reject or remove unsupported, misleading or unlawful content.
After first confirming the email address, the company customer may order its first paid activation once at half price within 24 hours. The first six-month term therefore costs CHF 150 for Index and CHF 300 for Index Pro. The order time recorded by the server is binding. The offer applies only to the first paid plan selected; renewals and later upgrades are billed at the regular price.
All stated prices exclude VAT. Payment does not guarantee relevance to a particular search or a fixed position.
Binding order and automatic renewal
Before indexing, the company customer can compare and select the plans. By deliberately starting indexing with Index or Index Pro, the customer places a binding order for the displayed plan for the stated six-month period. The official six-month term begins on the next Swiss calendar day; the order day is not counted as part of the term. External indexing begins even if the billing address is not yet complete. If it is already complete, an internal, unsent invoice draft is created immediately when the order is placed. Otherwise, the company customer must provide the address after successful indexing in the resumable completion step that follows the click on “Publish”. Publication remains blocked and the invoice cannot be made available until the address is complete and the technical checks have finished. A crawl-linked draft remains blocked server-side from automatic and manual delivery; its release for delivery is decided separately. If indexing fails permanently, the paid plan benefits remain disabled until a safe retry or reviewed continuation succeeds. If it is confirmed that no external provider run started and no usage occurred, the activation and any unsent draft are cancelled. Otherwise, the binding order remains assigned to controlled recovery.
The subscription renews automatically for another six months after each period. An upgrade from Index to Index Pro is available at any time. After successful reindexing, only the prorated price difference for the remainder of the current period is invoiced; from the next period, the full six-month Index Pro price applies. Pausing the listing does not end the subscription. If the listing is deleted before the next period starts, no further renewal takes place. No prorated refund is granted for pausing, deleting or downgrading a plan during a period already in progress.
Creation only with a company website
A new listing can only be created by providing and crawling a publicly accessible company website. Manual listing creation without a website is not offered. The company customer confirms that it represents the company or is otherwise authorised to have the public website content used for the listing and search.
For technical allocation reasons, a website hostname can only be assigned to one customer account. As long as an existing draft has not been deleted, it is reused when the same domain is entered later. New indexing may be necessary after deletion.
Crawler and technical limits
company.ch uses an external crawling service for Free, Index and Index Pro. The service retrieves publicly accessible HTTP and HTTPS pages without logging in, observes robots.txt, prefers appropriate language versions where detectable, and excludes sensitive or technically unsuitable addresses.
Time, file-size, language, security and accessibility limits may further restrict coverage. Free captures the corresponding homepage of each detected supported language version, up to four pages in total. Index captures no more than 100 technically suitable pages and Index Pro no more than 1,000 per detected supported language version. Technically inaccessible, blocked, unlawful, duplicate or infinitely generated addresses do not have to be captured. company.ch does not guarantee complete, current or error-free crawling. If crawling remains technically impossible, support can be contacted at info@company.ch.
Automated indexing and search
The cleaned search representations may produce one aggregated company document and separate page documents for suitable destinations. The search system may process queries lexically and, for longer natural-language queries, with semantic search models, account for bounded typos, filter results, fuse rankings and rerank the leading company window by relevance. The search does not use a chatbot or generative model to rewrite queries or result content. A separate narrowly limited AI service may take the company or brand name and complete locations from supported page content; customer-defined button labels may be translated once. Results may be incorrect, incomplete or outdated. The company customer must check and correct visible listing information and settings before submission.
Duties relating to information and website content
The company customer must ensure that the name, location, destination website, button labels, forms and other details are accurate, current, understandable and lawful. The website must concern the company actually represented and its genuine offering. Identity misuse, fabricated locations, deception, misleading destination pages, unlawful content, and infringement of personality, company-name, trade mark, copyright or other rights are prohibited.
Favicon, name and location
A favicon, company or brand name and at least one genuine location are required for submission. Any additional branches must also be genuine. The company customer confirms that company.ch may use these details for storage, review, search and public display.
Website and enquiry buttons
Within the specified character and content limits, the company customer may set the label of the website button and, where the extension is enabled, the enquiry button. Labels must be clear, accurate and consistent with the corresponding action. The website destination comes from the crawled company website or a subpage clearly assigned to it.
Public and internal data
The name, favicon, location, website button and, where relevant to the search, destination address, page title, meta description or short page extract may be shown publicly. Free uses only captured language homepages; Index and Index Pro may also use relevant captured subpages. Stored page search text, private additional information for AI search, internal search documents, ranking/version attributes and administrative notes are not public. company.ch may use this internal data for search, allocation, quality control and development of the search function.
Optional form extension
An Index or Index Pro listing can be extended with a form for leads and quote enquiries. The extension is optional and is not available with Free. The company customer may configure up to eight additional questions or fields. Name and email are standard fields; telephone and message are optional.
Questions must be relevant, understandable and lawful. Sensitive personal data or secrets may only be requested where necessary for the specific enquiry and legally permissible. Receipt of new enquiries may be enabled or disabled separately. Each complete enquiry is delivered directly and is included in the applicable paid plan without an additional per-enquiry fee.
Submission and administrative review
By submitting the listing, the company customer confirms that it has checked the visible information, selected plan, destination addresses and any phone or form extension. The listing receives an ‘Under review’ status and only becomes active after deliberate approval by company.ch.
company.ch checks technical mandatory information and evident errors or indications of misuse. company.ch may correct details, delay approval until a correction is made or refuse the listing. Review does not constitute certification, legal or quality review, or a recommendation.
Publication and languages
Following approval, an active listing becomes public and searchable. Crawled page text remains in the actual language of each page and is not translated on approval. Original page titles and metadata from the external website may therefore appear in the language of the page crawled. Recognisable errors may be reported to info@company.ch.
Changes to published listings
Changes to an active or paused listing are generally saved directly. If the company customer changes the company or brand name or adds another branch, a new version is submitted for administrative review. While review is pending, the last approved version of an active listing remains public; a paused listing remains paused. Approval replaces the previous version.
Pausing and deletion
An active listing can be paused and will then no longer be publicly discoverable. Current subscription periods, enquiries, invoices and payment obligations remain in place.
Deletion removes or empties public listing, search and form data, together with the indexing draft. A minimal technical record and subscription, enquiry, invoice and necessary evidence data may be retained. The account is not deleted automatically. Broader deletion requests may be sent to info@company.ch.
Visibility and search scope
An active approved listing may appear in public search results if it meets the relevance requirements. Free considers only captured language homepages. Index and Index Pro may additionally use relevant subpages as search sources and destinations. Listings that are not approved, paused or deleted are not shown as active results.
Free
An approved Free listing remains visible and clickable without a subscription fee where it is relevant to the particular search. Internal search considers only captured language homepages. Website visits are not charged individually.
Index and Index Pro
Index and Index Pro are paid subscriptions. The displayed monthly price is for comparison; the full amount is billed for six months. Website visits are not additionally billed per click.
The company customer receives the indexing scope and search placement level of the plan ordered. Actual display remains subject to relevance, technical accessibility, approval status, language and availability of the external website.
Phone extension and availability hours
With Index and Index Pro, the company customer can store a phone number and permitted availability hours in the Europe/Zurich time zone. The call button appears only during a stored time window. Details and hours must be kept current; company.ch does not guarantee actual availability. Phone contact is not charged per call.
Technical subscription or transmission errors
A suspected technical subscription billing error or enquiry transmission error should be reported as soon as it is identified to info@company.ch, with the listing, period and a clear explanation. company.ch reviews the logged transaction. Correction is available for a demonstrably incorrect subscription charge and where required by mandatory law; enquiries carry no separate charge.
Invoices
A paid indexing plan is billed every six months at the displayed six-month amount. Transmitted enquiries are included in Index and Index Pro and do not appear as a separate invoice item. The company customer can view subscription invoices in the dashboard.
An internal draft that has not been released for delivery is not shown in the customer dashboard. The invoice is made available there only when it is actually sent; its issue date and due date are reset at that time.
The payment term is 30 calendar days from the date on which the invoice is actually sent. The due date shown on the invoice is binding, and payment must be made using the payment details stated there. The company customer must keep its billing address up to date. If payment is late, company.ch may send reminders or demands and exercise legally permissible remedies for delay.
Search and ranking
Results are ranked by technical and AI-assisted methods according to the determined relevance of individual websites and pages. Every result shown must meet the applicable relevance threshold. Among similarly relevant results, Index ranks ahead of Free and Index Pro ranks ahead of Index. Relevance remains decisive. Payment guarantees neither relevance nor a fixed position. Criteria, models and weightings may be developed to improve quality. There is no entitlement to a particular position, visibility, number of impressions, visits or enquiries.
Destination page and external website
With Free, the website button leads to an appropriate captured language homepage. With Index and Index Pro, company.ch tries to take the person searching to a relevant captured subpage; depending on relevance, the homepage may still be the destination. A correct, available or linguistically suitable destination is not guaranteed. Following redirection, the terms and privacy information of the external website operator apply.
No promise of traffic, leads or success
company.ch is required to provide the technical listing, search, plan-based indexing, redirection and, with Index or Index Pro and where enabled, phone or enquiry extension. company.ch does not promise a minimum number or particular quality of impressions, visits or enquiries, or any response, quote, engagement, conversion, payment or other commercial result.
Rules for people searching or enquiring
People searching or enquiring must use accurate details of their own and may not use the platform for deception, abuse, unlawful content, bulk or automated enquiries, advertising, job applications, spam, simulated visits, or unnecessary transmission of sensitive personal data or third-party secrets.
Transmission of an enquiry
An enquiry is assigned to the specifically selected listing. Once it has been submitted completely, the company customer receives the answers to its own questions as well as the name, email and any completed telephone number and message directly by email. Optional fields that were not completed are not presented as available.
company.ch uses technical checks against misuse, disposable email addresses and duplicates. However, company.ch does not verify the identity, creditworthiness, seriousness, completeness or likelihood of winning an order for every enquirer and does not guarantee the accuracy of their information.
Enquiry delivery included in the plan
By enabling the enquiry extension, the company customer instructs company.ch to deliver every complete enquiry directly. The extension is a feature of active Index and Index Pro plans and is not available with Free.
Complete and successfully stored enquiries are delivered without a separate fee. Incomplete, rejected or failed submissions are not delivered.
No individual billing per enquiry
The number of transmitted leads or enquiries does not change the agreed six-month amount for Index or Index Pro. There is neither a separate fee per enquiry nor a monthly lead invoice.
Binding nature of delivery
A successfully delivered enquiry cannot be technically reversed. No replacement enquiry, refund or reduction in the plan price is due merely because no order or contract results, the enquirer does not respond, changes their mind or is not commercially attractive. Mandatory legal rights remain reserved.
Relationship between the company and the individual
Following a redirection or enquiry delivery, the company and the person searching or enquiring act on their own responsibility. They check identity, need, suitability, price, timing, permits, insurance, contract terms and ability to pay themselves. Offers, contracts, services, warranties, liability, cancellation and payments are arranged solely between them.
Operational messages
company.ch may send messages required for operation, including access and confirmation links and communications concerning accounts, enquiries, website listing reviews, publication, invoices, reminders and payment status.
Prohibited use and manipulation
Prohibited activities include unauthorised automated extraction, scraping beyond ordinary search-engine indexing, bulk enquiries, spam, identity misuse, malware, attacks, artificially generating website visits, circumventing security, access, plan, limit or billing functions, and manipulating rankings. company.ch may discard transactions, block accounts and pause, refuse or delete listings.
Rights in company.ch
The software, database structure, design, text, graphics, logo and other elements created by company.ch may only be used within the intended functions. Without permission, reproduction, resale, systematic copying, modification or making protected platform elements publicly available is prohibited unless a legal exception applies.
Right to use website and listing content
For the duration of the necessary processing, the company customer grants company.ch a non-exclusive right limited to platform operation to retrieve public content from the company website provided and submitted details, process them temporarily, store them, adapt them technically for the search index, index them, display them publicly as a title, meta description or short extract, and use them for search and redirection. The company customer may only provide websites and content for which it can authorise this use.
Availability, maintenance and third-party services
company.ch aims to operate securely and reliably. Maintenance, development, security measures, disruption to the internet, hosting, database, email, AI or network services, and events of force majeure may temporarily limit functions. Uninterrupted, error-free or permanently unchanged availability is not guaranteed.
Warranties and liability of company.ch
company.ch has unlimited liability for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence and in other cases where liability cannot be excluded or limited by law.
To the extent permitted by law, company.ch is not liable in cases of ordinary negligence for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, missed business opportunities or loss arising from website content, automated crawling, search results, ranking, plan priorities, information from individuals, services of listed companies or failure of third-party services. In cases of ordinary negligence, liability for loss of data is limited, to the extent permitted by law, to the typical cost of restoration.
Responsibility of users
Company customers and people searching or enquiring are liable under the law for damage they cause through unlawful use, false claims of authority, prohibited content, infringement of third-party rights, ranking manipulation or abusive enquiries.
Privacy
company.ch processes personal data under its published privacy policy. Listed companies are responsible for lawful further processing of details received with an enquiry. Linked websites process data under their own privacy information.
Duration and termination
The account and listing relationship continues for as long as they are maintained. The company customer may pause or delete a listing and request deletion of further account data from info@company.ch, subject to retention duties or overriding evidential interests.
Termination does not affect a current six-month period already ordered, enquiries delivered, invoices, payment or retention obligations already incurred or terms that by their nature continue to apply.
Changes to functions, prices and terms
company.ch may develop its functions and processes. Price changes apply only to future plan orders or lawfully communicated future renewal periods, and never retrospectively to a six-month period already in progress.
These terms may be updated for objective reasons, including changes to the platform, prices, providers or law. Material changes to an existing account and listing relationship only take effect with consent or on another legally permissible basis. A future plan order is governed by the version incorporated when it is ordered.
Severability
If a term is invalid or unenforceable, the other terms remain effective. The relevant statutory provisions apply in its place. Mandatory rights are not restricted.
Governing law and jurisdiction
Swiss law applies, excluding conflict-of-laws rules. The exclusive place of jurisdiction is Bülach, Switzerland, where such an agreement is legally permissible. Mandatory jurisdictions, particularly for consumers, remain reserved.
Contract language
These terms are provided in German, French, Italian and English. The German version is the original version. In the event of conflict or differences of interpretation, the German version prevails to the extent permitted by law.
