New Expansion Building for the Sonnmatt Elementary School Complex

At the Sonnmatt school complex in Oftringen, a new extension is to be built in place of the two existing pavilions and the temporary container structure. This extension will bring the elementary school and daycare facilities together under one roof, connecting them to the existing, renovated main school building.

The new school building is intended to be a vibrant place that enriches the daily school life of children and teachers, fosters interaction, and makes the educational mission visible through its architecture. We are seeking project proposals for a building that establishes a distinct identity, is well integrated into the school grounds and the neighborhood, offers a high quality of indoor and outdoor spaces, and is functionally, economically, ecologically, and aesthetically sound in the long term.
